What is fibre cement is a question that we are often asked by installers, stockists and architects alike.

Fibre cement is a superior material for use as a tiling substrate when compared to chipboard, plywood or plasterboard.

It is stronger, does not rot, swell, warp or delaminate. It protects against water, moisture, mould and pests, plus it is classed A1, non-combustible. It is also engineered using an environmentally friendly process and can be disposed of on-site easily.

Due to the simple, organic composition, the regenerative raw materials ensure the exemplary long life and endurance of the STS Fibre Cement products. Even after decades of exposure and use, STS Fibre Cement sheet materials can be disposed of as construction waste without any hesitation or simply re-used.

The four main ingredients of the STS Fibre Cement Boards are as follows:

  • Organic Fibre

  • Sand

  • Cement

  • Water
