A couple of members of our team took a trip to Bologna, Italy to visit the Cersaie 2019 International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile & Bathroom Furnishings.

Although there wasn’t much change in trends from the previous year, there were still some notable differences in certain aspects of tiling.  Mosaics were becoming less and less present, being quickly overtaken by the large format tiles which are growing larger by the year.  Along with bigger tiles, comes bigger equipment to handle the ceramics without them breaking.  Grey tiles are clearly here to stay for the moment, and as the market continues to expand eco-friendly & sustainable tiling is encouraged more by many companies.  We also noticed an increase in gold brass wear, and an introduction of a new ‘rust’ colour.  Overall, the market is growing rapidly, with installation methods getting more innovative, but we can say with assurance that tiling is never boring.’
